Aussiedistiller, Home Distilling, Moonshine, Home Brew

I have made a few batches of rum now and put on oak dominoes. Cant get the family to leave it alone long enough to get some age on it
just wondering does anyone run their rum through any filtering at any stage ie prior oaking and does it give a better result just wondering
and would like some opinions before I try
