Hey darbwah,I would wait till it has cleared a bit,but that's just me,can't see that it would hurt to run it tho, as long as fermentation has completely finished.

G'day Darbwah,

Like Shanksy said, best to wait until it's clearer but so long as the fermentation has finished you can run it. But your more likely to get off flavours from the suspended solids ( yeast ) in your wash come through into your final product.

Cheers

I ran a slightly murky TPW on the weekend - i filtered it thru muslin cloth before hand and got rid of most of the dead yeast.
It's not quite a 'vodka' but still pretty good - my GF says it has slight brandy flavour to it.
(obviously it's *not* actually brandy tho)
meh - fine by me. 8-)

So, if you want full on neutral then wait.

The TPW I put down stopped at about 1008 I dropped a bit more bakers yeast on it and it went off again ... in hind sight it was a series of mistaes that worked out really well fortunately .. i used a fermenter that did not have an o ring and used the lid and bubble valve .. other than stalling and being kicked on .. it sat for 2 weeks before i ran it through the still ... it came up a treat .. best hearts i have ever tasted !! now just waiting for the turbo yeasts to finish up s I can stage 3 more TPW a wek apart so that I can stock up for summer and xmas ... my point is even after 2 weeks it was still cloudy .. nowhere near as clear as the turbo carbonned washes ... but the end product 100 times better !!! :text-thankyoublue:

Did u rack it off and let clear for a couple of days? I hear that's the go, siphon into another fermenter and let it go for 2 days or so.

Out of interest do u plan on stripping them and then a spirit run or just the single run?

Old bull and young bull were talking one day. They saw a herd of cows.
"Hey lets run over and do a couple" says young bull.
"Lets walk over and do the lot" says old bull.

Just let it clear.

I racked mine then let settle for two weeks, It was still murky, so I ran it through a 1 micron filter - came out like crystal clear apple juice.
I had to clean the filter out midway through 100 Litres though :angry-banghead:

I think you will find if ya run ya still right it will make no diff to the final product BUT you may have a problem with ya still wanting to puke during the run ifen its real dirty
