i moved some TPW to new fermenters... issues ?

Postby maheel » Mon Aug 29, 2011 9:21 pm

today i took some TPW out of my 80L barrel and "siphoned " it to 3 other vessels... it's at about 990 (FG) and would be about 10% or so

when i say siphoned a fair amount was exposed to oxygen splashing around
i may not have super dooper cleaned the 3 vessels i did rinse and starsan them a bit :angry-banghead:
the last vessel 15L was pretty much a pick up and pour the lot left in the 80L lee's and all :D

am i going to have infection issue as i have never done this before

should i be downstairs right now running it ?
it's going to be in them a few days...

I've only ever used boiling water to clean and sterilise my fermenters - boil the kettle, tip it into the drum, swill it round a bit, job done. Never had an infection :D

+1 for star san, best shit ever. i have a 25 fermenter with it premixed then have a atomiser bottle full of it to spray everything. Used a lot of different sanitisers in the past but for the price you can get star san you will only need to pay about $20 to last you 10 years.
