adding backset after fermentation

i got so involved with my first 2 proper whiskeys that i forgot to use any backset.
i have loads of backset from my CFW efforts.
so could i slip a couple of litres in on day 2 of fermentation?
i realise that PH could be problem.
one brew has oyster shells in, so should cope.
is it worth it, or should i save it for the feints & spirit run?(i'm going to triple distill)

Its a more concentrated flavour then the wash wouldnt hurt to add it to either strip or spirit run. If you want more influence from it add it into spirit run :handgestures-thumbupleft:

i think it is worth it but you are right, PH will be a problem

I did something similar and mashed into backset. got it to ferment out and things were looking good until I scorched it in the pot

Go for it man!! Experiment and have fun but I am pretty sure it will work in your favour
