Google. Seriously. Search for "surface area of a cylinder" its pretty simple anyway. Pi * diameter * height

Why do you have to go so short on a PC?

Your shotty doesn't have to be vertical ;-)

Just tossing ideas out there mate.

What about going to a 2.5" or 3" shell for the PC?

Or try a 2" x 350mm, it's a lot of work and copper down the drain if it doesn't work though

What cooling setup have you got?

To fit it in a cupboard..i may just have to be happy with 400 and a long connection to collect on the ground, if you guys reakon 350mm is to short.6x 1/2 inch at 350mm has slightly more surface area then 4 x 3/4 @ 400. Is it just cooling the output because i reakon it will knock down 2400w..

Yep and i appreciate the help, currently have 200l drum and evap aircon cooling the water, plan to also add a split system condenser..but will go ibc if needed. Shotty will be for a 4" pot that will end up a bubbler.. :-B

Hey bluc, with using an evaporative air con to cool you might want to go a bit longer on the pc as it'll mean that you can have a lower flow rate of coolant. This should help with the evaporative aircon as a slower flow rate will give a longer period getting cooled.
