Ok I'm new to the game and I want to make my own sprits. I want yo make vodka and white rum. But also like to do whiskey asp. I want to use a copper reflux still keg for the boiler.but I live in qld don't know were to get one cheap. I've had a look on line and in shops I think there are to dear. So I thought I would make one. And if I use copper reflux with copper mesh :text-thankyoublue: in stead of steel mesh do I need a carbon filters .

Couple of blokes here can build you a still that will work better than pretty much any that you can buy from brew shops etc
5Star and Mac both make good stuff

If you want to make your own read heaps and ask plenty of questions

As for the keg,if you were in Vic I could help you out with a few :D
Some times they come up on ebay :? or do you know any one that has a pub??

2 inch VM on 50l Keg (now retired)
4 inch VM (aka the BIG PRICK) on 315litre boiler
Soon to come 6 inch Mac bubblier on 205 litre boiler
6 inch stripper on 300 litre boiler

90L (Big Bertha) 1.2M 3" Copper - too small... lol

Hey Lazy,where abouts in QLD are ya? If ya don't want to spend too much,and I see you want to make bourbon and rum,maybe a pot still might be the go.you can still make a vodka type neutral,you just have to triple distil it :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

As far as I know, you can legally own a copper reflux still on a max 5L boiler, but not for distilling alcohol. See this thread.
