can nickle be safely used in a still

I don't know that much about it, but I'm going to have to say I wouldn't use it.

i wouldnt use it either. We dont use galv products ;-)

I assume chrome plated copper is ok as I believe it is a major componate of stainless steel . I think all the plated copper I have is only plated on the outside anyway
