Feints from a bubbler run

Hi all,
I finally have my 4" glasser build up and running. and stepping up from my pot and LM units I now have to re-learn my run procedures.
I have just completed my first run using a grain and sugar wash at 10%. (Did a sac run last week to iron out any little issues). I followed Mac's "Running a Plated Column the Easy Way" (viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2681) and collected all my product cuts in 320ml stubbie bottles. All went well, couldn't be happier, thanks Mac. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

My question is.... do I recycle the feints cuts?

As I understand it, these plated stills compress the fractions pretty well, so I don't know if there would be much usable ethanol left in the feints. There didn't appear to be much in the way of tails anyway. I'll let it all air overnight and make the proper cuts tomorrow, just not sure if the feints are worth hanging onto.

Looks awesome i dont do bubbler feints runs. Others do try it and see if you like it and if you get enough out to make it worthwhile for you :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Cheers, thanks bluc. I've got another 2 fermenters of FFV just about ready to go, so I'll have more that enough to keep me going for a bit. I don't think I'll bother hanging onto the feints.

I have done a few feints runs. Turned out alright with 5 plates and a 500mm packed section.

hey mate I keep the heads from bubbler runs and re use them. I don't keep tails though I just ditch them :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'm the opposite from Nathan (for flavoured washes anyway)
I ditch the heads and put the tails into the next run.

For the last few runs now I've kept the 1st jar either side of hearts (1 heads and 1 tails) and I just ran it the other day. Got a nice amount out of it, can't draw good conclusions on the flavour as I'd also chucked in a bit (less than a litre) of dodgy bourbon I'd tried to age in my late uncle's old rum barrel :puke-huge:

Got about 1.3 L of good hearts from about 3 L of feints.

I have 5 plates and put the heads and tails from my stripping runs into the next run when making neutral spirits. It improves the yield. For spirit runs I then add a 500mm packed section. Heads and tails go into the next stripping run again. Hearts are very clean and get used for vodka, gin, lemoncello and other products.

Have you got a build thread for this?

I've gone from the idea of making a new pot still for my T500 boiler, to a 2" keg pot... To a 4" keg pot... And now I'm thinking a 3" or 4" keg bubbler...obviously over a long amount of time. Still trying to figure out what the actual components in a 3 or 4 plate are.
