Slow running TPW on T500

Postby Bbqdistiller » Sun Jan 26, 2020 11:20 am

Hello brains trust,

I’m 3 hours in on my first TPW run and I’ve only collected about 50 - 75 ml of fores.
It started dripping about an hour in (just as the how to run a T500 the proper way post said it would)
The out put has slowed down and my question is should I close the needle valve a bit to bring it back to a Steady drip?
I know the how to guide says take the Foreshots as slow as possible but 3hrs to not even collect 1/2 of them seems a bit too slow. At this rate I’ll still be here in 5 hours collecting fores.
Any helpful suggestions will be appreciated.

What temp is your outgoing water ?
You should aim for an outgoing water temp of about 55
If you close the valve it will slow the water to the condensers and speed up the flow of alcohol .

Outgoing water temp was about 31 I bumped it up to about 40 and it started going a bit better.
It’s just on the verge of the drip drip dribble I believed I should be aiming for after I take the Foreshots.
