Issues with cloudy sugar wash

I've had 1 batch go cloudy on me and no idea why.
went cloudy when mixing rain water into it. Took cuts etc. 95% sure I didn't have any tails as I make quite harsh cuts.
all other have been fine with the same water so can only assume there was tails....
