It looks nice and clean on the inside but I was thinking a good slosh about with some old 80% rubbish

Let that evaporate away and then a good clean with the Aldi nappisan to get it ready for some low wines.

Dose it say 30 on it?

I have a similar looking one thats a 20, the 30 i have is the full width of a normal keg, but much shorter

Got measurements? Might be easier to fill for aging lols

It says 30 on the side RC

I want to give it a good rinse anyway so will set it up under a 60 litre fermenter and measure how much it takes to fill it

I found a short-n-fat Guinness keg at the scrappies the other day.
Considering going and getting it.
Still had beer in from who knows when.
Wonder if its a local keg or an import, any way to tell?

Ah ok then, I think its an import then.
It didn't have any of the barcodes or RFID tags that the local ones seem to.
And using the ocular verniers it looked like it was bigger than a 2" mounting face.
Might go and get it.

So I actually went and got it, and a length of what seems to be 4.25" copper.
My ocular verniers were correct.
Measuring with my actual verniers shows its actually 73.2mm OD and ID of the thread is 49mm-ish.

For that sort of keg i made this tool
received_430247364679929.jpeg

Just 2 bits of rod welded to a flat bar. 1 goes in the hole. Other one rests up against the edge of the top. Put it on the other side to do up.
Can do and undo it.
Slightly undo to release pressure.
Tighten back up and put some vice grips on the center piece and pull up and twist then let it drop into the keg.
Undo the main part and take both bits out.
If you cut the tag off on the outer spear part(bit stopping you getting it out without dropping the center) you can just screw it back in as a lid. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
