mixing drinks

Just starting out and need some advise? then post it in here.

mixing drinks

Hey all, if I want to make a drink that's 700 ml at 5-6% Alc,how much 40% would I need to put in?. IM hungover today and my brain is mush ha. Thanks for any help.

Dilute .125L of 40% % alcohol Down to 7 %
By adding 589ML Water


Dilute .11 of 40 % alcohol Down to 6%
By adding 623ml Water

It's saying to add 875ml to make 5% when I do it :think:
