Clearance of reflux above packing

Just starting out and need some advise? then post it in here.

Clearance of reflux above packing

How much clearance is recommended between the top of the packing material and the reflux tube? I think i read somewhere that about 6" is required but cant remember where. Just trying to work out what length column i will need to fit 600mm packing material. Cheers.

pack it as full as you can, maybe an inch below the take off :handgestures-thumbupleft:
