Cleaning Still

One thing i have thought about since doing some more reading is cleaning the still .... so far i have just been rinsing out with water after each run since i have a sugar wash....

Im not too worried while strip runs , but for the final spirit run is it suggested to give a good clean ( steam , vinegar or chemicals ) or dont worry and stick with rinsing out ???? :shifty:

Between strips I just hose out then fill it up with citric acid and hot water and let soak before a spirit run.

Others just hose out when hot.

Others will do a vinegar run to clean.

Personal choice. Try it with cleaning and without and see if you can taste or smell a difference

The pure distilling rig instructions say citric acid followed by baking soda. They say that's to neutralise the packing again.

Not sure about the truths there bit that's what I do every 2-3 runs.

I vinegar run after doing my final rum run, but otherwise just a hose out and that's it! :)
