I'm looking at sorting neutral in a keg and wanted to put a tap on the bottom.
Are the stainless ball valves ok to use? I don't know what the ball is made of?

Make sure it says ptfe ball and seals.. :handgestures-thumbupleft: most home brewing specific ball valves have the right seals/ball.

I store and age some of mine in stainless kegs mate. I just got the seal plate and triclamp to seal it and a tap and triclamp for when I want to take some out. I simply lay it on its side and open the tap a little. I did not worry about fitting a tap to the barrel other than via the triclamp. I am a lazy bugger who can’t solder so just looked for n alternative.

im planning to drill a hole and tig a socket or nipple on it to screw the tap straight into with some ptfe tape. I prefer ease of use and willing to spend more time to make it easier than stuff around doing things because it was easier to not do it.

We have a customers who utilize the top 2" ferrule on a keg to attach a 2" ball valve.
Use it to fill the keg then once full you can lay the keg on its side and use the valve to draw off what you want.
easy, no welding just the valve a seal and a 2" clamp.

I put a camping hand pump on the top of mine in a 2" tri clover cap with a 32mm hole and a camping/caravan water pump.
Works really well.

Yes but it doesn't live in it, use it to fill a few bottles and then flush it with fresh water.
