i cut up my ebay still so that i can use the 50mm copper pipe, i knew it had been soldered with lead solder and builder claims that it will not harm any one.this is what i found.
you be the judge about not harming any on. a lot of these were sold so if any one has one like me get macstill to build you a new one or get it re soldered with silver solder.
there is a lot of people on this site that can give you more info than me.
i hope this is of help to any one that was like me silly enough to buy one.

Bloody hell

That's a lot of baked on flux and shit in there, flux contains acid, that's why it is recomended anyone buying or building a new still should do a good cleaning run or two with vinegar before you start making consumable product.

Most if not all stills I build have been tested before they go out so they are ready to go, and I clean up all my soldering as I go so things are as clean as possible, which makes building them a lot easier anyway, let alone removing the majority of the crap caused by soldering.

I wonder how many people are slowly getting crook from this dodgy old wankers work, it's bloody wrong!

I hope he signs up here so I can educate him, but I doubt it

Here's the one I fixed for Darky on homebrewer forum.
