This is really a question for the beer guys, No matter how well i filter my bourbons ive tried coffee filters, paper towels, and even laboratory grade filter paper. after a month or so sediment appears in the bottom of the bottles which to me detracts from a otherwise perfect presentation...
would a running the finished bourbon thru a 1 micron beer filter clean this up and remove the sediment before bottling the bourbon?

I found that when i have sediment in the bottom of my bottles I just decant the spirit into another bottle and leave the sediment behind ;-)

that's what I do at the moment. works on the jellyfish too. I just really want to avoid the sediment altogether.

depending on what laboratory grade paper you used- you may have already used 1 micron filter.

.35 micron absolute filter is what you want and you may have to use C02 to push it threw the filter. But being bugger all sediment and alcohol you prob should be able to gravity feed it

1 micron will still let particles threw so .35 will get you a hell of alot closer but then if your that way inclined your spirit will be touching plastic and it may strip the flavour a bit

Bit concerned here with this idea of taking out the sediment.

How else you going to know the bottle needs refilling when your mates are doing the pouring?
