Postby dan.325 » Wed Oct 24, 2012 3:51 pm

Hi All, i have just been thinking about how i could make my own Vodka Cruisers or similar for the girls. I think if i just put some nuetral in the bottle with some soft drink/soda it would be flat after a couple days. Any ideas?

A mate of mine does UJ and dry in a corny keg, tried it with the soda stream dry but tasted like shit,he just waits till its on special at woolies or Coles and buys a couple of cartons
At first he whinged and bitched about spending $15 on soft drink, tight arse   but when pointed out that he's getting 18l of good quality booze for 2/5's of fuck all he soon changed his tune

My plan is to buy a heap of LA Maxi Ice from NQR, and mix according to ratios, in a corny.
If I can get the cola chilled enough, it wont lose much co2 if poured correctly.

Does the co2 hold up as well as if u had instant co2 mix as in post mix?

Well with syrups you have to add co2. As I carb and push beers using soda stream, less co2 at my expense :P.
Also not sure at what level to carbonate.

My mate has got the gas bottle hooked up to the keg,he slowly pours the dry into the keg, with the booze of course, jams the gas into it for 6 hours, degasses to about 4psi or whateva and then pours away :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I have got 3 corny kegs I use for beer but sometimes I knock up some softdrink for the kids. Just plain cordial from golden circle or cottees works. Lemon squash(solo), Raspberry, Lime, Orange(Fanta), Bickfords Ginger beer they all work and can't really tell the difference from the proper softdrink. Just tip in the right amount and gas it up. Everything except cottees cola..that stuff tastes nothing like coke. In summer I just fill a keg up with plain water and gas it up...tastes better than any soda water you can buy.
