not sure what your making here or what you define as kick, but for whiskys to add some mouth feel, depth I add 6 -8 whole black peppercorns to approx. 4.5 - 5lt of flavouring spirit for the first few months. It hits side of tongue and cheeks, but don't over do the corns cos it can over power.
If you mean more alco spirit punch, as the guys have mentioned cuts, and minor step ups in final abv would assist.
