Based on the Limmoncello recipe found in this forum, obviously amounts needed to be changed because orange has a different bitterness and flavour.

start with 700ml of neutral, the higher ABV the better, Mine is usually around the 95% ABV

Peel 2 large oranges with a potato peeler, you want the zest (orange part) not the pith (white part under it). An ordinary potato peeler does a good job, no need to rasp.

Steep the orange peels in the neutral for a few days and you will find the aroma and colour will go orange.

Next filter it out through a cloth to remove any stray bits.

then mix 950ml of warm water with 300gr of sugar and let it dissolve. Stir as required

Pour the two together...

Put it in the freezer a few hours before drinking
Enjoy on a hot day, its super refreshing.

I disagree about the higher the abv the better. I think at this potency you're pulling bitterness and pulling it too quickly. I've also found at that strength the end product is too cloudy and slightly too oily.

My best lemoncllo is done no more than 50%
