mini parrot

Postby CH3CH2OH » Sat Oct 26, 2013 3:55 am

I hammered out a mini parrot with a 3/4" body to see how the shorty Ukraine alcometers perform in a smaller volume narrower body parrot.

This is how it turned out.

It just had a citric acid bath and a good rinse. Waiting for a polish!!!

Now to run something through it to see if there is any significant hydraulic effect with these smaller alcos

I am surprised!! It works quite well as long as the stream into the parrot is consistent. Surging stream = bobbing alco

That's good mate.

You won't get a parrot where the alco doesn't bob for a surging input...unless there's some new weird design out

I was worried when I first tested mine by hand too, but the guys on here pointed out to me that you will rarely pour consistently...but the output out of your still should be reasonably steady...and if its surging, you'll probably want to make some adjustments anyway to correct it :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yes. using a speed pour on the bottle, the alco was steady as can be. I kinda like this little guy!!! and really low volume

Out of curiosity, I just gave it a measure and the parrot only holds 66ml!!!

I'm working one one of those too. I wanted to test a smaller one to use with these smaller alcos
