Which alcometer?

Postby bac206 » Tue Jul 09, 2013 3:59 pm

Hi all. I've just built a parrot reading somewhere to make it out of 3/4. Now I find I should've made it out of 1 inch instead :angry-banghead: Anyways. Can anyone tell me what brand alcometer would fit this parrot? I'm thinking of reheating and making inch one but will still be chasing a good small alcometer anyway. Thanks
PS. The how to solder forum was hugely educational. I've barely done any metal work ever and managed to knock up a parrot in no time. :happy-partydance:

Might be a bit of bad luck there mate.
If your tube is too narrow relative to the alcometer, you may get a false reading due to the surging around the glass. That s if you can get one that would fit.
Chalk it up to experience and go make another bigger one.
Btw- I reckon to make yr catch cup bigger diameter. Mines 1 1/2 inch. Small diameter is fine if you are hard wirin it to yr still.
