Looks good, am looking to upgrade my set up to 2 drums for long runs in the summer, winter time in Tassie I can do back to back runs with only 10' rise in temp :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Works good tas, we only get to 30~34c here in summer, handled it with no probs.

Hi Googe,
Just came across this post and have to say it looks amazingly simple even for someone as useless as me!
I currently have 2 X 200L drums but only use one at a time with ice blocks in and I still have to swap the pump across into the other drum halfway through a run. Obviously that's a pain in the ass and the temp rises from abiut 18• to 36• in less than 3 hours in one tank even with ice.
What sort of temp increase do you see with your setup? And are you also using 200L drums?
Cheers
WW

Hi ww, yeah there 200L each. I've never measured temps in this setup yet, I'll do it next time I run. My runs arnt long using a bubbler, but I can't detect much difference in water temps when I feel it by hand after a 3hr run. I'd certainly say you'd need a very long run to raise temps enough to cause any issues.

Well it looks good mate so I am gunna give it a go.
I run a bubbler as well but find my water temps go up very quickly.
I can see two obvious advantages with your setup over mine ... I have 2 X 200l tubs ... You effectively have 1 X 400L
My return water goes straight into my coolant water heating it up ... Yours has to flow all the way through the entire 400L before reaching the pump again...
I will set it up prior to my next run and monitor the improvement :handgestures-thumbupleft:
