Probably not as cheap as a UJ or BWKO if you have access to a feed store ;-)

I do have a pet food shop nearby. Not sure they have those things in stock and if they do likely going to only sell in 20kg or bigger so might not be worth whole going down that route. I do have chickens though and I'm sure they will be happy to take care of my leftovers.

Also on the front page of this thread it says 2 kg of corn flakes. On the other locked thread on the proven recipe thing it said 2 L of crushed corn flakes. Just wondering which one is correct.

Hey guys I have a question. I started making one of these but also want to do a UJSM. I'm currently fermenting 25L of this, but not sure if i should continue onto another generation or go straight to the UJ. Then I thought, could I do a second generation on this, but sort of switch to the UJ recipe, and combine them all once stripped? Or will this be just stupid? :))

That was for a 40 to 45l wash in a 50l fermenter
My rule of thumb is to use 450 to 500g for a 25l wash ( I make sure at least half is Kelloggs ) The problem with volume measurements is the degree of crush.
I crush that 450g pack - it still weighs the same
It is a very forgiving recipe and the difference is the corniness in the flavour varying by the amount used ( and the brand)

yea got a cornflakes/vitaweet wash going this weekend
500 G's of cornflakes (one box) 400G's of vitaweets 4kg white sugar about 400 G's of the wheat malt I made thrown in about 68C EC1118 yeast bomb
Within 2 hours the airlock is ticking away in my fridge set to 26C
Be interesting to see how long this new yeast will take.

Nah mate not stupid, I have done that a fair bit. Bko is my standard, a lot of my mates like the uj so I usually run a few uj washes, remove some spent grain and add back wheat and barley :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Just to clarify, I've gone back through my notes and it's 2 LITRES of whole cornflakes, which are then crushed :handgestures-thumbupleft: Obviously the volume is going to change depending on how crushed they are.

Hi all All the mates drink bourbon and seeing this seems to be the most straight forward I'm going to put down 90L of this tomorrow just checking to see if I have this right. 1.7 kg Kellogg's corn flakes 15 Kg sugar I'm assuming white Can I use citric acid for lemon? If so how much? 9-10 Tablespoons baking yeast. Hope this sounds about right. Cheers Kicka.

Sounds about right :handgestures-thumbupleft: another box of cornflakes won't hurt though.
You can use citric acid, I never have so I don't know how much haha

Dripping might be TOO slow... You still want to pull good flavour through.
What size column are you running? (diameter)
