probably best to ask mac, but can the 2" be modded to a bubbler or plated colum?

In short yes you can, all of the parts for the 2" pot can be used to build up to a plate still :handgestures-thumbupleft:

and with that info you have yourself a sale

Zac and other knowledgeable types,

I stripped Gen 3 tonight, I haven't got any corn flakes for the Gen 4 wash, so I am planning to use cracked corn.

I have a litre of cracked corn currently soaking in 7 litres of hot back set from the still.

By substituting the corn flakes with cracked corn, do you think there might be something missing from the wash?

I still have the grain/yeast bed from the 3 previous gens in the wash.

Thanks in advance.

Might need some nutrients in there too mate. Dead yeast will work :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Would there be enough dead yeast in the fermenter from the previous 3 gens?

If not, what other nutrient options would be viable.

On a completely different topic, tonight was the first strip using 2 of Mac's elements, a lot quicker and easier than gas. Shoulda done it months ago!!

I did a strip on my 3rd gen yesterday and dumped out the cornflakes for the chooks as I want to start again with no crushed cornflakes and a different yeast, going off the flavour of bakers yeast. ec1118?

I was just about to dump the dunder but had a taste and it has a really nice sour mash taste to it so decided to keep the dunder to kick off a new first generation. Has anyone kept dunder from CFW and have any comments ?
ie .. does it go mouldy, if so, is that a good thing ?

I find the sour mash taste doesn't really start to come through until gen 3 or 4.

I always use some dunder to start a new wash :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Nothing can beat time on oak mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The stuff is quite drinkable straight off the still, but you want to age for a few months for best results.
