So the misses and I got one of those hot air pop corn makers for the kids the other day...
For a lark I decided to try fermenting some...
Recipe.
1 x 375g packet of popped popcorn.
1/2 packet of Ryvita Crispbread.
5kg white sugar.
pinch of citric acid.
Popped the popcorn and put it through the food processor till nice and fine along with the Ryvita Crispbread, boiled that off in water, it got very thick very quick, kinda wishing I had some malt on hand.
Dissolved the sugar in water on the stove with the citric acid.
Added the lot to a 30lt fermenter and topped up to 20lt and let it cool, left it down a bit cos i didn't know if it would spew shit out all over the place or not.
Pitched yeast at 35c, no foam up at all, everything settled to the bottom very quick, topped up to 30lt the next day.
It's fizzing away very nicely for now and smelling rather lovely.
Plan on running this through 3 plates when done.
