I'm thinking they would be great to blend into a first gen batch to make up for the lack of depth and character

careful with checking abv after. a dspirit with dunder and wash in it changes SG. the alcometer will be slightly out now, like checking an essence bottle for ABV, its not spot on. If you know your starting ABV and there is no or minimal evaporation than this would be good. I always tr to keep my numbers and watch them evaporate. although my last one went in at 68% then when i bottled it it was 70% :laughing-rolling: Im not always accurate 8-}

Well they went in at 65% but I'm not too bothered as if it comes good I'll just pour singles instead of my standard double...

This sounds interesting. What is the alcohol content of the spirit you adding it to, 90 odd straight off the still or once watered down?

Awsome. Hows does it compare to the molasses you got previously? Taste wise and sugar taste?
Just keep an eye on your ph if your using dunder :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Smells like golden syrup intial taste is like golden syrup with a lingering licorice taste. I find the feed grade I get is a lot more licorice and a lot less golden syrup. Will be interesting has some nice caramels to it to.. Taste is all round more refined I wouldn't say less harsh but cleaner hard to describe.
Should be good weather its 5times as good well we will see.. :handgestures-thumbupleft: :cool:

Yeah I just used a half full litre bottle of 92% and filled the rest with dunder. It's going to last a few years at the rate it gets used.

According to the hydrometer about 15% but it wont be that high due to solids in the molasses throws out the reading.Others here do 6l/30l so I just copied.I dont normally take a hydrometer reading with molasses just doing so because it a different molasses..As a comparison my feed store 3l molasses 3kg sugar I get a sg of 1.123 and finish's at 1.021 so almost identical sg. Out of standard rum wash I get about 4.5l low wines so will see but volume wise should be virtually identical to feed store stuff..will post up details when I run it in a week or so..

The original mcrum is 3l molases and 3kg raw sugar 3kg raw sugar is 3.47% alcohol in 30l wash, 4.2kg(3l) mollasses gives 3.97% alcohol very little difference, so straight swap 3kg sugar to 3l molasses makes sense :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Acording to brewers friend calculator.

I use HD calls and for a sugar wash they are a lot higher than brewers friend, I found with all Molasses washes that I needed a bit more due to the unfermentables, between 7 and 10 seems the sweet spot for me. Im using feed grade not fancy. What is the sugar content of the fancy Bluc? :handgestures-thumbupleft:

55.6g per 100 no idea what my feed grade stuff is as it comes from a bulk container.. so 4.2kg equale roughly 2.3kg sugar if my maths is right :teasing-neener:

Is that between 7 and 10 in a 30l wash? How much low wines do you get from that?

Thats a 25L wash, I have tried various amounts from 6 to 10 and found no discernible difference in flavour, just in the yield. I usually get around 10-11L for 45L strip, using 9-10L per wash. My Molasses is 48-52% sugar. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Going by brewers friend mcrum results in a 7.44% wash then switching to aussiedistiller alcohol to water calculator it shows you get 4.42 low wines and 2.24l at 75% I normally get 4.5l low wines and keep 2l at 65% so I think brewers friend is inline with the feed store stuff I was using, will see what I end up with out of fancy.
