So after a few issues of ensuring correct water flow and no leaks, and just all the things that put distilling on hold for me a know falling into place slowly, been on tank water and realising that I had no cooling system still, it has been a mad rush over the last few days, but ultimately with some cosmetic work will get better.

TPW is fermented nicely, about to go and number some beer bottles, and get ready to run this old T500 hopefully for one of the few last times before I upgrade (thanks to RC for pointing me to a project to work on in my time off, as I am looking forward to experimenting with new stills and recipes and processes :-D )

anyway some pics of work in progress and some more updates through and at completion, as have been waiting nearly 3 weeks for this to ferment (like a kid in a candy store) :-D

it has definitely been a bit more of a challenge then setting up just for the HBS Turbo run haha

Well done mate. Once you've done the first run it's easier every time.

My T500 will run an entire wash with using less than 70L, I use it to wash and refill my wash fermenter or fill the washing machine for the next days clothes, so don't stress too much. What my old girl does (on tank water), is puts the outlet water into buckets/ferment bucket/anything and then tips it back in her tank.

Birdman it was more just convince that the tub .got moved to that shed, so I figure take full use of it :) and it's not attached to the house tanks so if I do spring a leak or just something disastrous happens, then not losing 50000l of water :)

That looks like a much better setup than I had when I was out on the farm... 3 x 10l buckets constantly running back and forth with 2 to the 10,000gal tank outside and up the hill climbing a ladder to the top and pouring them in... damn those were some hard runs. I was just too stingy to fork out for another pump so no one else to blame but me.

I like it, combines a cardio workout with the still run

to be completed again shortly- was not able to post the other days, and have to retype it all again.

the short version, the run went great amid errorss 12 cuts @ 150ml each +200 fores, I havent had a chance to try yet so i dont know what is getting cut and then re run later ( just bout to put another tpw down) and see how it all goes :)

Here is my lovely running diary of my first TPW

(before you all ask - No i didnt get the initial reading - but i have with the second TPW)

Cuts of 150ml to be taken
1 hr 20 mins 38.7 started collecting fores

2hrs 24mins fores looked stopped turned water down a little bit

3hrs 09 mins adjusted water flow again

4 hours 20 mins 47 °fores collected and to be tossed, not as even halfway through bottle 2....have upped the water slightly and was sitting at 49°

5hr 16 min 51.0° finnally moved from bottle 2 to 3

6hrs 10mins cut bottle 3 80% will check again in 30mins temp still 50.8

6hrs 40mins time is now 2:12am AEST - but better not tell the cows that they could miss an hour of the day at the end of the day because of other states....but what Bout penguins that were shoes to bed???

Now bottle number 4 YAY

8hrs 28 mins 4 done and 5 nearly done. Temp 52.8

Ready for bottles 6 to 10

9 hrs 33 mins bottle 5 nearly complete. Will put it on the shelves with the other cuts.......

Becoming an interesting method.....

12 hours bottle 9 goes under , at 56°


Cuts

1 - foreshots 200ml
2-5 heads 150ml each - 600ml total
6-11 hearts 150ml each - 1050ml total
Stopped at 11 so it still has more to run.........ummmm????might ask the AussieDistillers for some advice

Total of collected 1850ml (1.8l)

first things first - is 15 hours normal? temp was sitting comfortably around 49-55 degrees at the drip drip drip dribble so I left it as from what i was reading thats what it should be and to pay more attention to the drip drip drip dribble then the actual temp. It is also the first time that I have run my t500 properly hahahahah

anyway it was an interesting period of time, and just finished the cuts and it was another new experience, but something I wish I had started along time ago.

Anyway guys please be gentle this was my first time :teasing-tease: but all jokes aside any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) (yes second TPW is already down and the third going down in the morning)

and still havent had a chance to sample the proceeds, so till later, I think its time to sample the proceeds and then report back :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Wow 15 hours is an epic run. Did you do a stripping run first, or was this a one-shot run?

I have a Copper T500 and it usually takes 4.5 - 5hrs to do a complete run.

Tesla - no stripping run as first time really running it in a few years and it just kept at a constant stream so I figured I wasnt going to interrupt it

andd yeah I normally only have it run for about 6 hours max - but it kept to drip drip drip dribble LOL
