Or for a smaller qty, I was looking at this site yesterday:

True Water Filters: http://www.truwater.com.au/replacement- ... g?cPath=64

It's 1kg for $12.95 & normal postage of $10.

just curious.. i think i read somewhere that just soaking the carbon in your neutral would do the job.
is that right? pita to do it that way though, having to filter it back out etc..

cheers

Soaking carbon with neutral is how the bad shit gets into the carbon in the first place...

There is a method where you can add the carbon straight into a demi with your spirit then give it a shake every day for a week or two and then let it settle out for as long as you want. Then you can decant most off without any of the carbon coming with it and you might have to filter the final bits. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

With this filter that I am building that's what I am hoping to achieve

Fill the horizontal pipe with carbon and the vertical pipe then tip your product in with a bit more carbon if you like leave it sit for a while then slowly draw the product through the carbon nice and slow
Thanks Dock for the idea

Another point with all this carbon talk, if you let one lot of good spirit run through the filter don't let another good batch run through at a faster rate as you may pull all the impurities out again. Slow is good with carbon :handgestures-thumbupleft:
