Hello everybody long time lurker thought I better post something
after all every time I run into a problem, I look it up on this forum
and always find an answer so thanks all you distillers ^:)^
I live only an hour from the snowfields so very cold over winter and
had to solve the problem of fermenting in winter and keeping the yeast happy.
My solution was to build an insulated cabinet that I could move around easily and
could hold 2 x 60lr fermenters
I was going to buy 2 cool room panels and cut them up for the build but couldn't find any
reasonably priced ones so got a few sheets of 50mm polystyrene some aluminum sheet,
signwriters color bond and some cord Flute and made my own.
Nothing flash, galvanized base on rollers, removable top and front, 2 powerboards
to run heater pads and heater belts as required or even a low wattage globe.
I had immediate success and it all worked well just have to monitor temps regularly
but the cabinet maintains fairly even temps so one very happy camper here.

So you glued the steel to the polystyrene how did you join them? Looks like bolts or screws maybe?

Yep glued the polystyrene to the steel sheeting with selleys allfix.
The upper part of the cabinet frame is 50x50 galvinised angle trim which made it easy to cut
and glue the foam in place. The top and front has the same angle trim screwed in 50mm from the edge
so it tucks in nicely. The foam is glued in place same as the sides and bottom. I will get a pic of the removable
top and front today and post it up, you will see what I mean then.
I was going to hinge the front and top but then would need more clearance to open and close.

Basically the upper section that is filled with polystyrene is 50x50 galvinised angle trim [1.2mm]
Where the front and top tuck in I had to use an extra bit of angle trim to protect the polystyrene
from being damaged, it breaks up easily. Hopefully the pics show what I mean.
