Cleaning Stainless vessel

I've come across a large (150-200l) stainless vessel on gumtree that looks ideal as a fermenter. I have no idea of it's history at this stage.

Question, is there anything it might have been used for that can't be cleaned up? Or is everything short of radioactive waste cleanable?

Grab a spray bottle and make a mix of Bi-carb soda and warm water then spray the inside right out with the mix, then grab a stiff brush and get cleaning :handgestures-thumbupleft: The baking soda will neutralize any acids if present and besides it's damm good cleaner for most stuff. Then simply wash out with water and job done.

I haven't called the seller yet. Saw it late last night. I don't really "need" it but stainless is hard to resist.

Do any of us REALLY NEED IT ? no we just want all this stuff :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:
Itll come in handy for fermenting or mashing later down the track.

The story of my life. I told my partner distilling was going to save us money..... Now I have less money, less time and less room in the shed!

Unfortunately this didn't work out. It turned out to be only 100l and was in worse shape than I thought.

On the wish list now is a 250l conical fermenter on heavy duty casters. It'll be replacing a $30 plastic drum with maybe another $50 in fittings/valves though so I doubt I'll find one cheap enough for me not to cry.
