Tri keg boiler

Hi guys, had a vision last night and wanted to run it past the deep pool of knowledge on here.

What if you had 3 kegs in a triangle formation with a "header" on top merging all 3 into one 4 inch coupling to connect the column too?

150 litre boiler at a bargain price?

Should be stable
Mate can fabricate stainless

Thoughts?

How are you planning to heat this contraption? Unless you had the exact same wash and volume in each keg and heat at the exact same rate you will get smearing.

Prob be ok for stripping. In reality your better off getting your mate to fabricate you a bigger single boiler ;-)

By the time you fab up the connections to each keg.
3 x Drains (ferrules) welded - unless you flip the kegs
3 x Fill ports, 90deg turns , straight lengths etc
multiple clamps
3 x drain valves
3 x heating elements or gas burners (and bottles)
and 3 x stands
Extra pipe and welding.

One of these would be cheaper, nicer to look at, easier to control and more compact.
Plus the run would be that much faster. being 100ltr not 150 ltr

Sometimes we can over think things when there are ready made mass produced answers right under our noses. :D :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Or
Ask Mac if he would do a 150lt boiler with all the above advantages.
Just my 2 cents

Cheers for the advice, best to ask before doing!

Pretty sure Big D has tried something similar, in the end he decided it would be cheaper and easier to just buy a bigger boiler ;-)

Could try something like BIG D's boiler (if he ever gets around to finishing it!) :handgestures-thumbupleft:
