Pumps don't need to be super powerful so water feature/pond pumps can be used if setup correctly. These use a lot less power than a water transfer pump and I suspect that if you're running in a bathroom you'll have limited access to power. You don't want to overload your GPO. Coffe addict uses a solar water heater pump off ebay that sounds like a good cheap option that runs on lower power and also handles high temperature (not that you want high temperature in cooling water) so it can also be used to drain the boiler.

Many thanks for the welcome and info db1979 - was able to hunt down the threads and have purchased the same pump as Coffe addict: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/112453512610

A quick update on my noob experience:

Happy to report that my 5 Star order arrived within 4 days, so no Aus post detours :)

I'm seriously impressed with the quality of this gear and the obvious care Andrew took in packaging.

Does anyone have any tips on packing the boka with the copper mesh? (I have a 1 KG bag) Also, does the copper require any additional cleaning treatment other than my first cleaning run? I have my sacrificial TPW bubbling away at 30 deg in prep :)

Cheers all

When I packed Carols each roll was about 110 or 120 grams or so.
Your 1kg should be enough to fill the column and have a little left over to stuff up into the head around the coil.
Give the mesh a good 24 hour soak in some citric solution

Hi rvn - There are 7 copper rolls that fit in the column and there is extra stuffed around the coil. I have a long garden stake to poke them in and out.
