Hello from sydney

Hi all,

I received a T500 copper reflux condenser, T500 boiler and stainless 30 Litre conical fermenter for Christmas.

I have fermented my first wash (I believe it’s referred to by many as turbo crud) which I’ve discovered needs to be run through as a sacrificial run to clean the still.

I plan on running a 50/50 vinegar run followed by the sacrificial turbo run as my first run.

Looking forward to many years of happy stilling.

Yeah I’ve been read a few post here since putting down the turbo wash and was hoping to have something drinkable in the next few days and have come to the realisation that I’ll need to sacrifice the first wash which it turns out would probably not be that great anyway.
One thing I still need to do though is replace the outlet tube with some copper but I figure for a cleaning run I’m good to go.

Welcome mate, looks like we're both on the same path.

I'm off to Coles tomorrow to grab a few litres of vinegar for my 50/50 cleaning run, then it's the sacrificial Turbo pack run that cam e with the kit.
