2nd time round

Say Hi and introduce yourself

2nd time round

Postby dhine82 » Tue Feb 11, 2020 12:21 pm

Hi to all,

New here to the forums.

There is so much good stuff to learn about and be inspired by contained in this forum! you never stop learning.

About 13 years ago my father in-law and I invested into a homemade 50L Keg style with 3inch Reflux column that we used to learn and start the hobby. Got right into it at the time for a number of years, and then somehow family and busy life got in the way. It now lives at the inlaws and becomes a pain to transport.

I have since (Last Saturday) purchased a basic t500 boiler with a SS Column

Already have two Washes down, 1 Turbo and 1 TPW.

Thanks for having me here.

Welcome dhine82.

Sounds like you should already have a good grasp on distilling from your previous experience.

Have a read of This thread and the threads linked within to hep you get the nest put of your T500.

Use the turbo wash for your first run (cleaning run as it is known) then continue on with the TPWs or one of the cereal based washes going forward. You'll get much better product from them than you will with the turbo.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Welcome '82, looks like we're on a similar path.

You'll be hangry for a bubbler in a few weeks :teasing-tease:
