Just wanted to say hi.

My name is Burt. Been home brewing since I was 18. After watching Jesse on the Still It youtube channel thought I`d give distilling a crack.

I have owned a Robobrew for a number of years which I am using as my boiler. Just finished crafting my condenser. Have no idea how it is going to work.....here's hoping. Pic below.

Thanks, Wellsy.

Looking forward to multiple stuff ups but I'm sure with the wealth of knowledge on here I`m sure that number will be a whole lot lower. :teasing-tease:

Welcome Aunty,
Does the Robobrew run to a set temp as in it thermostatically controlled ?

Thermostatically controlled.

That said, I have a voltage controller to give complete control over the elements.

The automatic stuff in the Robobrew is more about the mashing side of things.

So you set it to keep a rolling boil going ? Or does it hit temp and shut off ?

Either.

I set it to 100+ degrees (full power) and then control the voltage.

Welcome
The +reflux pot still is a great place to start :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I recommend seperating the water feeds to make power management much easier for you, it will have to be run really slowly as it sits. You will need pretty small valves on each exit to dial that in well.

Make mk2 PC from copper

I was wondering about separate controls for pre and post condensers. That said, yesterday I installed a 1/2 inch brass jumper style valve on the post condenser which can be dialed right down to a drip if needed.

I`ll take your advice and install a second valve on the pre-condenser. ^:)^

Never turn the pc down to control liquid flow. Turn down power to boiler.
Turning down water to pc results in ethanol vapour. Not good onnany level.
