Hello from an air still kook

Postby Sockteeth » Tue Jan 04, 2022 7:00 pm

Hi all, I'm Adam from Perth. I've been running an air still on out of the box instructions for nearly 6 years now, with surprisingly "good" results considering some of the discussion I've read on here over the last couple of days :)) I always used turbo yeast washes but recently did my first TPW and was very pleased with the outcome! I'm looking forward to learning more from these forums :)

Welcome!

I started with an AirStill also (it's still lying around here somewhere). Was handy to learn the ropes and operate in minimal space. I could run the whole setup of fermenting and distilling on my kitchen bench top. Can't do that with a bubbler!

Welcome to the forum.

The Air still is good for small batch gin runs.

Welcome Adam.

There's heaps of great articles in newbies corner to read even if you are experienced.

I would recommend one of the cereal based washes over the TPW for the airstill as any residual flavour in your final product is going to be a tasty grainy one.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
