Would Green Valley Grains Premium Cracked Maize be ok to use? Megapet have it for around $25 for 20kg

It is advertised as 100% straight corn so you should be fine using that :)

If water might be an issue for you one thing that has worked very well for me is a 100lt container and an aquarium pump, a reasonable sized one, but it let's you cool your condenser and return your water into the container so it's a closed system.

It works well and cuts back on the mess.
