Hi All!

New to the space and looking to get into the craft of distilling! I’ve got little to no experience, (helped out my old man with a T500 many years ago). After lurking and reading the forums and other places for info I’ve decided my starter setup will hopefully be a future proof one - ideally I’d like to be able to make clear spirits, Rums, Whiskey and even some Slivovitz (anyone got a plum hookup in Coffs Harbour area? XD)

So the planned setup is a 50L milk can boiler, a 4” Visualizer MK2, power controller and a couple 2400w elements (along with all the extras required).

Anyone have any advice or tips around this? Is the visualizer the right choice for my needs? - Only thing I’m a bit unsure of is the power requirements to run 2x2400w elements, will these run off standard Aus PowerPoints or need an improvement to 15a? Will I need a packed section kit to run clear spirits?

Cheers & looking forward to learning :obscene-drinkingchug:

Hi CB,
As I said in my email reply to you , call me a 5 minute call can answer so many questions.
But , a visualizer won’t make neutral spirit you will need to add a packed section to it for that .
2 x 2400w elements run off a 10 amp circuit each .
Talk soon

Hey Stig,

Definitely will do! I’m about 1-2 months out from pulling the trigger due to moving but will give you a buzz before long. Thanks that’s useful info :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Welcome Chaos
I can’t recommend calling Stig enough. Calling does not mean buying mate so call him soon so you can really drill down the pros and cons of the different options while you are waiting to move.
Best thing I ever did was make the first phone call :)
