Hello from Adelaide

Hi Guys,

Purchased an Air Still Pro recently, while I was waiting for it to arrive I came across a SH Turbo 500. Why not !?
I have used the T500 twice now and the Air Still Pro the once.
What a lot of effort the Air Still Pro was....

Ran a TPW through the T500 today. What came out was much better than the turbo yeast wash made with the supplied ingredients and it cost a bucket load less.
Even the foreshots smells & tastes (dip finger in & taste, not drink) better than I have achieved before.

I have 21 glasses of 93% waiting for the cuts to happen tomorrow. I will pretend I know what I am doing and keep what is 'good'

The eventual goal is to make bourbons & whiskeys.
Happy playing at the moment, reading & learning a lot on this forum.
All fun so far.

Hello and Welcome

I also started with the Air Still and turbo wash's.
I have also got the T500 reflux (used twice now also)

I managed to use up the last of my turbo wash yesterday through the T500, and it cleans it up much better than the air still ever can.
I have two batch's of the allbran weet bix wash ready for me to use next weekend. I can only imagine how much better that will be than the turbo wash.

I have yet to try to TPW (it will happen pretty soon i think)

Welcome kevhan.

You're off to a good start by ditching the turbo's and WBAB is a very good choice. It's excellent for vodka when run through a column and makes pretty good whisky base if pot stilled and oaked. TPW is also very good but, to my taste, the WBAB gives a better mouthfeel.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
