Just saying g'day

Postby acutissima7 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 12:10 pm

G'day im from Victoria, been looking for a new hobby & came across distilling, been reading a bit about it & im keen to get a still and get amongst it. There seems to be quite a few variables in the whole process depending on what your looking to get out of it, so im excited about trying different recipes & making a variety of spirits. Also learn & experience the ins & outs of it all.

Welcome mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Your spot on, their are countless variables but most of it will be explained in the Newbies corner and the rest will be scattered all over the place :laughing-rolling:

Enjoy the learning curve ;-)

Hey Bud, :greetings-waveyellow:
Welcome to the wonderful world of home distillation.
My advice would be to work out what you want and go from there. Most of us spent money on the wrong gear then worked out what we want :violence-smack:
Rum and bourbon=Pot still or bubbler
Vodka and neutral=reflux column or bubbler with a packed section
Simple really. Not!
Read lots and enjoy yrself

Welcome mate, have a look around, ask some questions then buy your gear when you're ready.

Like Bushy said, many of us have bought a still from the home brew shop then later regretted it.
