Ducatiboy is a noob

Postby Ducatiboy Stu » Mon Aug 05, 2013 11:30 am

Hi guys

Been an AG brewer for many and a few brewmates have branched into spirits.

Just starting to get my head around making a still. Ideall I want to make a reasonably simple still for making whiskeys , burbons and pure alc. I know how to solder and fabricate. Made my own esky tuns, kettle 2 roller mill etc so a still cant be that hard.

If anyone can point me towards some plans for a simple effective still I wpuld appreciate it.

Cheers

Stu

Welcome Stu,

Distilling is great fun and so much faster to do than normal brew days. A keg with a pot head on it will be perfect for what you want (it's what I've got) along with a good heat source for getting it up to temp and also for fast stripping runs.

There's heaps of threads around regarding designs, what works for some and not others. Enjoy reading.

Cheers
