Have you got a 15 Amp circuit wherever you're going to run the still? You'll need one for that 3600W element.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Try Again

Was thinking (And please feel free to provide as much advice as you can here.)

So I have the keg, but will do the following, (thinkin of turning upside down..... )
1 x 3500W element with controller
4" connection for colum,
4" sightglass/fill port.
thermoport.

Going moduar for sure

Was thinking of 4 x http://www.aussiedistiller.com.au/downl ... &mode=view

500mm packed section

150mm 4" RC with 9 x 3/4 " inners

500mm 2" PC with 5 or 6 depending x 1/2" inners

into parrot.

WTDist if you could flick over the template that would be great.

Professor Green I have a dedicated 15amp circuit in garage for this as well as a 10amp outlet as well.

yea man that template is pretty close to mine,

i used 2" caps 50mm tall and had the riser about 35-40mm tall. the DC i had 3/4" 20mm deep but if i did it again i would go 25mm.
my plate sections are 120mm long.

some people go longer mainly because of sight glasses, glassers are about 110mm i think. depending on sight glass size will depend on how tall the tee will need to be so clamps dont get in the way of each other. a 4"x4"x4" will need to be longer than 120mm i would think to avoid the clamps clashing, 3" in the pic will be fine i would think for 120mm, even 100 maybe but if you have room may as well be safe

Well Vossy, this thread has come some way from your original question...
i use scoria as a packing medium...cheap and effective.
I thought you were 'happy' to keep the original boiler...i use a T500 (25lit) boiler converted to a 3'' system.(thanks to WT and his encouragement.). My opinion is that i can get enough product from a 25 lit cook to keep me from loosing my marbles, doing a 50lit wash would be a loooong time, all in one go... not for me thanks.
I have found the 3'' LM (cup Boka) to be fast and effective.AND simple.Kind of prefer it to the VM alongside it.
Just my 2c...Cheers.
By the way, my mate has the same still as yours and has bought an 'extension' column which just fits in the guts...but suppose u r on too much of a tangent, from the original, to even consider that...happy buildin
