SILVER SOLDERING RODS - LEAD, ZINC AND CADMIUM FREE

If you need to silver solder stainless to copper you will need a high silver content rod. You also need to make sure that the rod is lead, zinc and cadmium free. My last purchase of these rods was from Quantec Solutions (Wynnum, Brisbane or Newport, Victoria). The part number is QS356FC, they are a flux cored 56% silver rod specifically for food industry and are very easy to use and very forgiving for the less than experienced people like me. Keep your tolerances tight and your work pieces clean and you'll have no troubles.

Service from the Wynnum dealer was fantastic. Be prepared they aren't cheap, I was lucky enough to get some demo stock pretty cheap but I think that they are about $40/m.
