If your plate that holds the tubes that is in the end of your condenser is anymore than 15mm or so down the tube, you should be able to solder it no problem. Just don't overheat it, and pressure test it when you think its good.
Or, if the "header" plate is right on the end of the outer tube, you should be able to solder it into an expanded joint if its all the way in. Again, not too much heat, only enough to make the joint.
If thats still vauge, I'll explain better, but you should be able to solder it without having to muck around buying clamps and flanges. If you're game. I reckon you'd pull it off. If clamps are the best way out, go for it. If your soldering lets you down, nothing lost, go back to the clamp method. Just a good chance to get another soldering badge and save some cash.
