I see where you're going EG...I think he's going for the full modularity, as am I.

The idea of swapping and changing condensers easily and experimenting is the key :D

what do you Mean

If your plate that holds the tubes that is in the end of your condenser is anymore than 15mm or so down the tube, you should be able to solder it no problem. Just don't overheat it, and pressure test it when you think its good.

Or, if the "header" plate is right on the end of the outer tube, you should be able to solder it into an expanded joint if its all the way in. Again, not too much heat, only enough to make the joint.

If thats still vauge, I'll explain better, but you should be able to solder it without having to muck around buying clamps and flanges. If you're game. I reckon you'd pull it off. If clamps are the best way out, go for it. If your soldering lets you down, nothing lost, go back to the clamp method. Just a good chance to get another soldering badge and save some cash.

yeah . I know what you mean now. the shotgun hasn't been built yet. but I was going to make it flush. .. being much smaller I reckon I can get it. but don't want to risk it lol

Well my 2.5" tri clamp rocked up today  , and i've been stalking bunnings for the last 2 weeks for another 1/2" pipe ( since i miscalculated - needed 2.7m not 1.5m :angry-banghead: )

Low and behold , its pay week clamp shows up and bunnings finally has my pipe (the stars have aligned) ,,, I now have EVERYTHING i need to finish this bubbler ,,,, Now i just gotta pull my finger out LOL... :-D

so my shotgun condenser will be 2.5" with 6x 1/2" pipes @ 450mm long.... should be fun 8-} , i also have 25L of lowwines of UJSM,,, Should i run it through the Pot , or save it for the bubbler

Low wines come out great from a bubbler mate.
dont run it like a pot still, reflux it properly like a bubbler should and you will be pleasantly surprised :handgestures-thumbupleft:

If your low wines need diluting, use wash for good results :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Spend the time you would have running the pot making the bubbler!

Wow, after all the trouble you went to. :angry-banghead:

All good, chin up mate. Just build a 2" condenser...all reports say a decent length (400-500mm) can handle 6kW...and you'll mainly be running at half that.

Yeah , by the zero response that ive got about the triclamp ... looks like im stuck with it ,,, will have to get a 2.5-2" reducer , and how much do you want for a pipe thats about 500mm long ?

Nothing mate, it's yours. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

It's only the scrapyard stuff, not shiny, but it's only getting coolant water anyway. Soak it in CLR, and sand the outside.
