The cleaning Run was with 2L of Foreshot Feints and about 20L of my ginger beer that failed ... so in it went ,,, im really suprised how much colour of the ginger beer has carried over into my final wash.... should be good for my UJSM :handgestures-thumbupleft: and how touchy that RC is .... doesnt take much flow at all to put it back into reflux mode.... think i went a bit too big

Good to hear you've had a run Linny!

Congrats on your maiden voyage :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Cheers ,,, its weird ,,, a little bit faster than my 2" ... so its only the heat that is holding me back. i should have gone a 3" RC ,,, i know what they mean now about response time ,,, and only 1 turn of the gate valve is the difference between reflux and running

Oh yeah ,,, that fire blanket works well too :handgestures-thumbupleft: ... definately keeps the heat in

yeah ,,, I just need to get more heat in it ,,,, if i went to a 3 ring burner ,,, all i see is $$$$$ coming out of the LPG ,,,, going electric

:handgestures-thumbupleft: Linny.

Fuck it must feel great to be at that point .

Me OHnS wankerness is looking at that product condenser tangling high up there above the jug .With Gas flamin below ,I'd be chicken shit .Got to finish off that PC somehow or stick the jug right up under it.( Or Macs Element)

And poor Rover ,Dude, his bowls empty ,them hoses look tasty . :laughing-rolling: or is he waiting for the real tasty shit 8-}

More Newcastle Booze coming real soon .Well done .Thanks for sharing your experience .Its inspirational :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Reckon you're right about the cost of gas /electricity.With the rising prices or Lecky ,been put off it a bit but seeing how my bottle chews up the gas on stripping runs, not so sure .Think Electricity is still the cheap option and definitely safer.

yeah at start of the run i used soap suds to double check all the seals .... its also the reason why it is outside ... so vapour cant pool.... try to reduce the risk

one thing i forgot to mention ,,, i had to angle the shotgun pipes ,,, so the lowest point was in the centre ... its pretty cool looking when its pot mode , and its just shooting out of random pipes ;)
thanks to BBQ galore i was getting $6 refills ,,,, so i wasnt worried but now that deal has finished ,,, time to move on i say

$6 refills .Wholly fuck.! I have to pay $35 to get my 9KG filled at the local servo .

BTW the angled shooty pipes,do they help to direct the flow or is just a random splatter

they will always drop from the lowest point. so if your point then all towards the centre , it reduces the randomness ,,,,, if that makes sense lol

This makes me feel more confident about mine :D Thanks mate.

At least you've gone modular, so you can build one, and chuck a reducer in :handgestures-thumbupleft:

im hoping once i throw more heat at it , it will equal out a bit .... but dont worry ,,,, you will have plenty ... and the shotgun can handle massive amounts of heat on little water ... i was less water flow than my 2 inch but it ran cooler

Well i had a day of ups and downs ,,,, woke up early and decided to run my UJSM ,,, everything went to plan and was merrily sitting away in reflux and i could hear the plates bubbling away so i let it sit there for 15 min and slowly cracked the RC ,,,, so far so good. ditched 100mm , then started collecting 250ml jars.... im pretty sure the plates are drying up as soon as i take it out of reflux - not enough heat ? anyways 3 hrs in , still collecting between 80-85% .... Mrs goes to me we gotta go out ,,,, i was like WTF .... stupid me agreed to go out the day prior and i have miscalculated how long the run was going to take ... i managed to squeeze 1 more hour still doing cuts .... pretty sure it started to smell like the onset of tails . so i ended up with 14 jars .... now airing..... so how long does a bubbler run go for ? pretty sure theres still alot of liquor in the wash :angry-banghead:

The UJSM does smell great , im very happy how it has turned out so far.... :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Some Led Zeppelin, AC/DC or Guns n Roses cranking in the background, cuppla rums and the soldering becomes secondary and just turns out good :music-deathmetal:

zen-like, become one with the copper

Good stuff mate, what percentage was it doing out at the beginning?. The abv seems low?. The 14 jars sounds ok if it didn't include tails?. How big was the wash. how do you know the plates dried up ?. I'm glad you got to run it mate :handgestures-thumbupleft: .

didnt measure it at the start ... wash was about 30 odd Litres ( 10L low wines from the Pot, 20 L wash )... im only guessing about the plates since i couldnt hear them after closing off the RC
