Distilling water

Hi All
I was just wanting to know about how to go about making distilled water using the FSD 4 plate bubbler.
Should it be de-tuned in some way?
I do not have a packed section, does that matter.
On a different note as I do not have a packed section yet would putting a heap of copper mesh on top of the highest bubble plate between the bubble plate and the RC be at all effective as packed section when doing neutrals or would that just destroy something or be a total waste of time? :naughty:

You wont need the bubble plates or copper as you aren't separating thing out of it. Just run it like a pot still with the condensor.

Thanks BigRig, I'll see how it goes.
I was going to use it as a source of water to dilute the spirit down but I have seen a few post advising against that. I do have filtered rain water also (which I carbonate and drink all the time) but I just thought maybe using distilled water would rule out any nasties.
Which would you recommend - town water is definitely out, may as well get it from the pool :puke-huge:
