The plates stop bubbling and the out put stops, it seams it's just not enough heat

so the boiler is still boiling with 2400w, and the plates are not working... ok

Are you still getting reflux dropping on the plates?

As soon as you drop it back the plates just stop bubbling, I put my ear near the boiler and it appears the element is working.

Ok back, it appears 1 element is not working, not sure why they both worked yesterday and they were both working earlier. So the thing is and has been running on half input from 1 element.

I'll have my sparky look at the other element tomorrow when he's over

It's all good iv left it on there running on full, it's doing the job. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

We could have blown the element yesterday, when we tripped the power so will have him check that tomorrow.

Getting there slowly.

I'm getting really worried about your lack of concern for safety hill, please turn everything off now!

unplug the lot "NOW" & just use the working element by its self "please"

C'mon mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

It's all good Mac I'm def not ignoring any saftey, iv hooked it though the box cause it is working fine and hooked up as I posted, there are also rcd's on the controller so it is fine.
2 things happened yesterday we tripped the power and my mate stood I'd the cord to the element, I think this has shorted the element, and iv turned that 1 off.

Given this is a cleaning run I think I'm going to turn off now anyway as I have about 4L of spirit that has run through.

Thanks for your concern and help Mac, I'll let you know how I got with the sparky.

As there was some concern the other day regarding my setup I though I would just give an update now that I have had everything checked out.

So last night i had not 1 but 2 sparky's come over, the box was all wired ok except the connections on the volt meter, they had been wired in reverse and this was causing the volt meter to read incorrectly while the control was working, this has been corrected and everything is now working 100%, everything is wired as per Punchys new diagram that has been posted. What the problem was at some stage a mate decided to move something i had put down and accidentally stepped on the element cord bridging the wires and tripping the house RCD, the element is fine and has been rewired. I have had my controller wired so both elements plug in and can be turned on and off from the box, both are separate circuits with RCD's, the whole thing is earthed and I've used a plastic box, Iv simply copied what every one else has done here and it's all been tested and running 100% A OK.

From my first few test runs I've decided to make a few additions to make my life easier but hopefully can get a spirit done this weekend.

Did my first Spirit run yesterday :happy-partydance:
Only had half a batch so is hard to give any figures but the spirit that came out was bloody amazing :handgestures-thumbupleft: The still ran like an absolute champ, heat up was a piece of piss, got her in full reflux then took spirit off slowly based on the instruction from Mac.
Very happy camper over here, I couldn't be happier.
