The water inlet is tee'd in between the 2 valves, one feeds the reflux condenser & the other feeds the product condenser.

Both condensers drain to the same outlet.

Always good to have a look at your builds Mac. :o I can only dream of something like that.

What style of heavier rum are you aiming at? High ester rum like Smith and Cross or Pussers?

Or a Cross breed heavy light rum like the El dorado's?

Mac, that 6" bubble plate makes my pajamas go tight. :happy-partydance:
If I were to make a 4" version, I am thinking a 2"x1" reducer with a 1"cap as the bubble cap (coz i like your shape) and a 3/4" downcomer.
what size riser under the bubble cap would you suggest? I am thinking a piece of 1" with about a 5mm gap between the top of riser and the underside of the bubble cap. Sound about right?

I'd go with a 1.5" x 3/4" or 1" reducer for the riser mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'll get some pics of the under side of my plate and post the tomorrow.

There's a little hint in there for googe too, see the riser inside the bubble cap? ;-)

I see something like a reducer  , why would that be needed ?. Doesn't the riser on the downcomer deal with that ?. I bet your having fun fucking with my head :teasing-neener:

Talkabout thick :angry-banghead: you need the riser inside to equalize the bath. The riser inside the bubble cap is fixed and the one on the downtime is adjustable to have dif bath depths ?.

A couple of pics to help explain.

These pics are of Cavemans single bubble cap plates, it's the same principle as my 6" rum still but we'll use these to explain it for you.

In the top pic you see the bubble cap in place, but it still needs to be fixed to the plate.

2nd pic shows a riser that sits under the cap, it needs to be slightly higher than the top of your down comer to retain the liquid pool at the set height of the downcomer.

These plates are also clamped in position due to my modular design, this in turn forms a seal against the column wall. Bubble cap plates wont retain a liquid bath if there's no riser under the cap, or if there is no seal to the column wall.

That's why your idea is shit and you should crush it with a hammer :D
