Those 4" peepers combined with a 4" Tee just make going a modular rig so much easier.

So am I right in assuming, that those are just 4x4x4" Tee's, with ferrules, sight glasses and tri clamps installed?

Would save a lot of stuffing around with cutting holes in 4" pipe and soldering in ferrules or some lathed pipe for sight glasses...

Can you buy 4x4x3" Tees, for a more "suttle" look?

I think mac is selling the 4x4x3's soon mate. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

EDIT - Stainless ones. Dunno about copper.

So 4" pipe is a thing of the past for bubbler builders?

I wouldn't think so mate. Using the tee's would be great for modularity and cleaning etc but your hooch would be just as good through a bubbler
made with 4" pipe. I don't have either though so I can only guesstimate. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hey Brendan,

These are 4x4x3 reducing tees mate, you can also build them with copper tees and ferrules yourself like the one in this post.

Yeah, but making the same hooch, the modular rig with tee's would be so much easier to make...no drilling, lathing pipe to go on for sight glasses...just SS ferrules to Copper tees..makes me want to start building

Sorry, messed up my last post.

meant to say these are 4" equal tees, the one in the link uses 4x3 reducing tees ;-)

Thanks Mac, I like the look of those (4x4x3)...I think the 4x4x4 are a little large for me.

The more I read, the more times I change my mind in what I will need to buy and do... :angry-banghead:

This setup looks like it would be a lot easier to complete the build once someone masters SS to copper.

I've got 6 weeks holidays still....so thinking I may as well make this happen and get on board :D

Actually, after looking at that, I would be quite happy with 4x4x2" as well :?

The only thing is, is the perf plates are clamped in...I don't know how'd you see them properly through the sightglasses...they look like the window would be a bit high to use a 4x4x2 tee

The 4x4x2 tee works quite well with perf plates, you just set the downcomer height to the bottom of the window at 25mm IIRC.

Here's the first modular unit ever made by me using 4x4x2 tees :D

Thanks Mac

How does the bath depth affect the flavour of the product/running of the still?

I see for the usual 4" bubbler it is recommended 10mm for the downcomer height...

Just curious on the repercussions of altering this just so that you can see it nicely through the window...I mean 10mm and 25mm are vastly different for a bath depth.
